Richard next married Sanchia de Provence, daughter of Ramon Berenguer IV de Provence Count of Provence and Beatrice de Savoy, in 1243. (Sanchia de Provence was born circa 1228, died on 9 Nov 1261 in Berkhamsted Castle, Hertfordshire and was buried in Hailes Abbey, Gloucestershire.)
