• Education, 20 Oct 1719-1727, Trinity College, Dublin. 5 John Crampton, who paid a fixed sum annually, entered Trinity College on October 20, 1719, aged 18. His Schoolmaster was Mr. MacIlwain of Dublin. John Crampton was born in Armagh and was the son of John Crampton, a watchmaker. He graduated with a BA (Bachelor of Arts) in spring 1724 and a MA (Master of Arts) in summer 1727. He became Archdeacon of Tuam.
